HC Deb 02 December 1919 vol 122 cc253-4W
Mr. LUNN

asked the Minister of Health whether the Tottenham Council's housing scheme is being held up because the council cannot obtain a loan; whether other housing schemes, and, if so how many, are being held up for a similar reason, and what is tile estimated or actual total of the loans immediately required for housing schemes?

Dr. ADDISON

Tenders for a loan have been invited by the Tottenham Council, and these are due on the 13th instant, so that for the present the scheme cannot be said to be delayed on account of the reason suggested. I have information as to other cases which are held up pending the raising of a loan, and these are under immediate consideration. The total amount of loans sanctioned by my Department for housing purposes since the beginning of the year up to the 18th November was over £8,500,000. I have no information as to what portion of this has actually been raised.
