HC Deb 02 December 1919 vol 122 c240W
Mr. REMER

asked the Food Controller whether there is a shortage in the supply of linseed cake for cattle feeding; and why an export licence has been allowed for about 5,000 tons recently arrived from America, and the name of the firm to whom this licence has been granted?

Mr. ROBERTS

Local shortages of linseed cake have been caused in certain districts by lack of sufficient railway and other transport to ensure prompt distribution from the mills to agricultural areas; but there is no general shortage. The export of 5,000 tons of American linseed cake to Holland was permitted as a special measure in order to relieve congestion at the ports. The licence to export was granted to Mr. J. Zwaardemaker.
