HC Deb 02 December 1919 vol 122 c244W
Mr. SITCH

asked the Financial Secretary to the War Office upon whom rests the responsibility for the expenditure of public money in July last in the digging of a trench at one end while the other end was being filled up, at a total cost of £100, between Hythe and Dymchurch, and in September last, in filling up trenches between St. Mary's and Little-stone at a cost of £450, and the giving away to a local farmer of a stack of hay worth £200 from the land of St. Mary's aerodrome; and whether he will inquire into the possibility of making use of the houses and land lying untenanted by renting them to ex-Service men from New Romsey and district and who are desirous of small holdings?

Mr. CHURCHILL

Investigations are already being made into the matters raised in this question, but are not yet complete. I will write to the hon. Member as soon as possible.
