HC Deb 02 December 1919 vol 122 cc258-9W
Mr. GWYNNE

asked the Minister of Labour whether only ex-Service men who have been disabled are eligible for training in electrical engineering; and, if so, why no similar arangements can be made for ex-Service men who have not been disabled?

Sir R. HORNE

Only disabled ex-Service men are eligible at present for training as skilled electricians. Similar arrangements cannot at the moment be made for fit demobilised men, because these are not covered by the agreement made with the trade concerned, and the facilities existing are not yet adequate to meet the needs of the disabled men.
