HC Deb 02 December 1919 vol 122 cc249-50W
Captain BROWN

asked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Ministry of Munitions if his attention has been drawn to the desirability of giving a fair share of sales by the Disposal Board to auctioneers who have served in His Majesty's Forces; and if he will give instructions that, other things being equal, ex-Service auctioneers shall have preference?

Mr. KELLAWAY

The policy of the Disposal Board is to distribute the sales by auction as widely as possible among qualified firms of auctioneers. I cannot undertake to give instructions that those who belong to a particular class of the community shall be employed in preference to others, but my hon. and gallant. Friend may be assured that the officials of the Disposal Board, most of whom are themselves ex-Service men, will not overlook the interests of those who have served with His Majesty's Forces.
