HC Deb 12 August 1919 vol 119 c1115W
Lieut.-Colonel BELL

asked the Secretary of State for War whether he is aware that there is at the present time no hay available in Wiltshire for purchase by the civil population; and whether, under the circumstances, he will release for civil consumption some portion of the large stocks held in the country by the War Department?

Mr. FORSTER

The hay purchased for the Army which became surplus to requirements owing to demobilisation has already been handed over for civil consumption. I would add that the whole of the 1919 crop of hay is available for purchase by the civil population.
