§ Mr. ILLINGWORTHThere is no record available, but the number of women in the Eastern Central District Office who are wives of members of the male staff is believed to be small. Most of the work performed on overtime either is not suit able for disabled soldiers or is of a purely temporary character. A considerable number of disabled soldiers is being employed in a temporary capacity in London, but it would not be desirable to admit more than there is a prospect of absorbing later on into the permanent establishment.
