§ Major ASTORSeveral different proposals have reached my right hon. Friend from time to time as to new schemes for public medical services. I am sending the hon. Member a copy of the reply which my right hon. Friend gave, on 28th May, to a question on this subject from the hon. and gallant Member for Leeds, from which he will see that the development of local medical services of various kinds is certainly contemplated by the Ministry206W of Health; but the opinions of the Consultative Councils will be sought before any substantial steps on these lines will be decided upon.
