HC Deb 04 August 1919 vol 119 c43W
Viscount WOLMER

asked the Secretary of State for War how many units of the Royal Army Medical Corps are being retained in Egypt; and whether it is proposed to send any of these home at an early date?

Mr. CHURCHILL

There are fifty-one units of the Royal Army Medical Corps in Egypt, including field ambulances, hospitals, sanitary sections, depots, etc. As these units become surplus to requirements they are disbanded in Egypt, and the personnel, if available for demobilisation, is sent to this country for dispersal. Those who are not eligible for demobilsation are utilised for reinforcements.
