HC Deb 04 August 1919 vol 119 cc42-3W
Mr. STRAUSS

asked the First Lord of the Admiralty what annual amount is estimated to accrue to the Treasury by the changing of naval officers to full civilian rates of Income Tax?

Dr. MACNAMARA

On the present basis of taxation and present numbers, it is estimated that additional revenue to the amount of approximately £275,000 will accrue to the Exchequer as the result of charging naval officers with Income Tax at civilian rates.
