§ Mr. WILLIAM CARTERasked the President of the Local Government Board whether the Local Government Board have drawn the attention of the Burton-on-Trent Corporation to the dissatisfaction amongst the professional, administrative, and clerical staffs of the corporation with their present war bonus awards; whether the Board have, in a further communication, suggested to the corporation that they should allow the case to go to arbitration if the parties are not able to arrive at an agreement; whether the corporation have intimated that they are not prepared to adopt the Board's suggestion; and, if so, whether he will impress on the Burton-on-Trent Corporation that their attitude towards this question is not in the best interests of local administration?
§ Major ASTORI am afraid I can only refer my hon. Friend to the answer which my right hon. Friend gave to a similar question by the hon. and gallant Member for North Tottenham last Monday.
