HC Deb 03 April 1919 vol 114 cc1409-10W
Mr. LAMBERT

asked the Secretary of State for War whether men who have served seventeen months on the plains of the Punjaub and three years in Mesopotamia continuously can be allowed more than twenty-eight day's furlough to get acclimatised for work in this country?

Mr. CHURCHILL

The period of demobilisation furlough has been fixed at twenty-eight days in all cases. As I have already stated in the House, I am considering whether in cases where, owing to special circumstances, men have been overseas for particularly long periods without leave, there could not be some special treatment, but I must not be taken as giving any undertaking.
