Mr. HAYDN JONES

asked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Board of Agriculture whether he will state the exact number of permits to fish applied for under the terms of the Board's Sea Fishing Order No. 1 (Motor Trawling in Cardigan Bay) for each of the following ports: Pwllheli, Portmadoc, Barmouth, Aberdovey, and Aberystwyth; whether applications for permits have been received from any other fishing ports in the bay; and whether he can give the exact number of permits to fish applied for for the whole of the Bay?

Twenty-two applications were received for permits to fish under the terms of the Sea Fishing Order No. 1 (Motor Trawling in Cardigan Bay). Nineteen permits were actually issued; one application was cancelled, and two permits were not issued because the boats were laid up. The applications came from the following ports:

Pwllheli 3
Portmadoc 3
Barmouth
Aberdovey 4
Aberystwyth 5
