§ Mr. BONAR LAWThere are forty-nine trustees; twenty-four by virtue of their offices, one by appointment of the Sovereign, nine representing different families. Besides the official trustees and the family trustees there are fifteen "elected" trustees who are nominated by the Prime Minister. The nomination is confirmed by election at a meeting of the trustees. The Prime Minister, in making nomination, and the trustees in making election, are careful to ensure that all branches of learning receive representation.
