HC Deb 02 April 1919 vol 114 c1232W
Mr. RAPER

asked the President of the Board of Trade if Captain W. R. Crow, late of the Timber Supply Department, had any previous experience of the box-board business prior to his employment with the Timber Supply Department, and is he aware that he is now being permitted to utilise information gained by him whilst in Government employ for his own gain, and thereby committing a breach of the Official Secrets Act?

Mr. BRIDGEMAN

The Timber Controller is not aware of the precise nature of Captain Crow's experience, if any, in the box-board business. He joined the Timber Supply Department to conduct the section dealing with the distribution of homegrown and imported timber in this country. I do not think that any question of a breach of the Official Secrets Act can arise.
