HC Deb 02 April 1919 vol 114 c1211W
Mr. G. LOCKER-LAMPSON

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer why, in view of the provisions of the Married Women's Property Act, the Inland Revenue authorities claim in some cases to be able to make a repayment of Income Tax on a wife's income to the husband?

Mr. CHAMBERLAIN

I am advised that this matter is determined by reference to the Income Tax Acts, and not by the Married Women's Property Act.
