Mr. TYSON WILSONasked the Secretary to the Admiralty whether any decision has been arrived at regarding the petitions presented in October, 1918, by the employés at the Royal Naval Barracks, Portsmouth, and other naval establishments, asking for similar treatment to that applied to other Government employés in these districts, and whether, at present these workmen only receive 24s. per week for a fifty-sax hours week, while other Government workmen doing similar work in the immediate vicinity are paid 24s. for a forty-seven hours week?
§ Dr. MACNAMARABoth matters raised in my hon. Friend's question are under consideration, and it is hoped that early decisions will be arrived at. I might perhaps remind my hon. Friend that the rate of pay referred to by him is, of course, the pre-war time rate, to which at present are added war increases amounting to not less than 28s. 6d. a week.
