§ Mr. BYRNEasked the Secretary to the Admiralty if any orders have been placed for the building of a ship to take the place of the Royal Mail steamship "Leinster"; if the mail steamers to and from Dublin are now being escorted; and, if not, will he take immediate steps to provide an escort?
§ Dr. MACNAMARAAs regards the first part of the question, I would refer the hon. Member to the information given on 24th October, by the Parliamentary Secretary to the Shipping Controller, to the hon. Member for Dublin North. As to the remainder of the question, I do not think I can usefully add to the replies on this subject which I have given to various members since 15th October.
