Mr. NUGENTasked the Chief Secretary to the Lord Lieutenant of Ireland if he will state the number of temporary clerks in the employment of the Department of Agriculture who had not been paid the war bonus of 5s. per week awarded by the Conciliation Board to take effect from 1st June last; and why it was being withheld.
§ Mr. SHORTTThe number of temporary clerks (male and female) at present employed on the Department's staff is 161. The Department have made representations on the question of war bonus in their case to the Treasury, with whom the decision in the matter rests.
