§ Sir W. DICKINSONasked the Home Secretary whether, in view of the fact that a large number of public school premises are not fitted with blinds, and in order that such premises may be rendered available for holding public meetings as provided by Section 25 of the Representation of the People Act, 1918, he will arrange with the Chief Commissioner of Police for the relaxation during the period of the next general election of the regulations governing the screening of lights?
§ Sir G. CAVEI understand that the Commissioner of Police has already made arrangements to ensure that the lighting restrictions shall not prevent the use of public elementary schools in London for public meetings of the kind in question. The Education Officer of the London County Council has agreed to have a responsible person in attendance at the school during the holding of a meeting who will put out the lights if and when the maroons are heard.
