§ Mr. RAWLINSONasked the President of the Board of Agriculture whether his expert advisers have pointed out to him that fresh store and moderately fat cattle under eighteen months of age can be both profitably and economically slaughtered; and consumed, and that the present practice of keeping such beasts for long periods after that age is wasteful of the available foodstuffs of the country; and, if so, whether the Government will take immediate steps to carry out that advice?
