HC Deb 09 May 1918 vol 105 cc2343-4W
Sir W. COLLINS

asked the Secretary of State for the Colonies whether the cases of Mark Leo Fernando and Mututantrige Aron Fernando, arising out of the Ceylon riots, had been investigated and dealt with by the late governor prior to his death, and, if so, with what result; and, if not, whether these cases will receive the consideration of the new Governor of Ceylon?

Mr. LONG

Reports on both these cases were forwarded by Sir John Anderson in 1916, and they satisfied my predecessor and my self that the action of the officers concerned was not open to blame.
