HC Deb 21 March 1918 vol 104 c1195W
Mr. PENNEFATHER

asked the Undersecretary of State for War if his attention has been drawn to the case of a sapper serving in the Territorials at the outbreak of war who, at the invitation of his commanding officer, transferred into the Regulars, and is now told that his prompt and patriotic action has cost him the sum of £15 to which he would have been entitled had he resigned and been re-enlisted instead of transferring without delay; and if he will take steps to prevent this man from being penalised on technical grounds for coming forward promptly when called upon at a time when his services were greatly needed?

Mr. MACPHERSON

My attention has already been drawn to this case by my hon. Friend, and I am having it inquired into further.
