HC Deb 21 March 1918 vol 104 cc1222-3W
Mr. BYRNE

asked the Secretary for Scotland if he will cause instructions to be issued for the same political treatment to Joseph Robinson, now in Perth Prison, as is given to political prisoners in Mountjoy and Dundalk Prisons, Ireland; if he is aware that it has been officially stated that, so far as political prisoners were concerned, the treatment was the same in Great Britain as in Ireland; and if he will see that Robinson receives the benefit of the recent concessions granted to Irish prisoners?

Mr. MUNRO

I am not aware of any such official statement as that referred to in the question. The law and practice of Scotland make no special provision for the treatment of political offences.
