HC Deb 21 March 1918 vol 104 c1226W
Mr. GILBERT

asked the President of the Local Government Board whether his attention has been called to three actions brought against the Bermondsey Board of Guardians for £19,760 for goods supplied, and which actions were settled for £18,095 with interest and taxed costs although the guardians maintain that these goods were ordered without their knowledge or consent; and whether, in the interest of the ratepayers, he proposes to order any inquiry into this matter?

Mr. FISHER

Yes, Sir, I propose to direct an inquiry to be held.
