HC Deb 04 March 1918 vol 103 c1736W
Sir WILLIAM COLLINS

asked the Under-Secretary of State for War what progress has been made with the organisation of Volunteer Field Ambulances for the County of London and what appointments have been made?

Mr. MACPHERSON

The scheme for the raising of Volunteer Field Ambulances does not, so far, include the formation of any in London, as it is necessary to raise these units at, or as near as possible to, their emergency stations. Volunteer Field Ambulances will only be raised in London if the existing arrangements for raising them in more suitable localities from an emergency standpoint fall through in any respect.
