§ Mr. MACPHERSONI regret that, in the present circumstances of the military situation, it is not possible to lay down any hard and fast rule as is suggested, but I can assure my hon. Friend that the Department will continue, as in the past, to give sympathetic consideration to all cases of the nature mentioned which are brought to the notice of the authorities.
