§ Mr. HOLMESasked the President of the Local Government Board whether the Board has completed its investigations with regard to the comments of Dr. M. H. Taylor, coroner for the Kingston district of Surrey, on insanitary property in the municipal borough of Kingston-on-Thames, at an inquest held on 9th February, 1918; whether the Board has caused inquiries to be made as to the accuracy of Dr. Pattison Armstrong's statements; and, if so, what steps it is proposed to take to remedy the state of 1668W affairs brought to light by Dr. Taylor and Dr. Armstrong, and when?
Mr. FISHERI have caused inquiries to be made as to the sanitary condition of the area referred to, and one of my medical inspectors has made local investigation in the matter. I now understand that the cleansing and repair of the houses in this area have been satisfactorily carried out, except in the case of four houses, the owner of which, however, has given a written undertaking to carry out the requirements of the committee of the town council for the repair and cleansing of the houses.
