HC Deb 19 July 1918 vol 108 cc1340-1W
Mr. KING

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs whether he has now been able to gain further information concerning the proposals put forward in Germany with official sanction for secondary or bigamous marriages, so designed as to increase the population?

Mr. BALFOUR

I have nothing to add to the answer which I gave to the hon. Member on December 5th, 1917, except to state that the pamphlet advocating these polygamous marriages was written by a German named Carl Hermann Torges, and published by the firm of Oskar Muller, of Cologne.
