HC Deb 18 July 1918 vol 108 cc1255-6W
Mr. KING

asked the Home Secretary whether the War Office or any Department, or person in the War Office has communicated with the Juvenile Organisations Committee of the Home Office suggesting co-operation in getting Boy Scout formations, boys' clubs, and other boys' societies to join the Cadet Corps movement and take on a more military character; and, if so, on what terms and with what objects has this been done?

Sir G. CAVE

No such communication has been made. The War Office and the Juvenile Organisations Committee, while desirous of encouraging the Cadet Corps movement as a means of character training, are agreed that care should be taken not to interfere with the work of such organisations as Boy Brigades, Boy Scouts, and clubs.
