§ Captain WRIGHTasked whether at a meeting of farmers on the 26th January the Minister of Food stated that the total number of pigs had increased by half a million in six months; and, if so, to what period of six months and to what area did his statement refer?
§ Mr. CLYNESLord Rhondda, in his speech on Saturday, referred to the recent census of live stock taken by the Ministry of Food on 2nd December. This census returned a number of pigs in Great Britain half a million in excess of the total shown in the Board of Agriculture census of the preceding 4th June, but Lord Rhondda indicated in his speech that too much weight could riot be attached to this apparent increase, as the later census was taken on a different basis and included cottagers' pigs, which were not included in the earlier census.
