Mr. DUNCANasked the Under-Secretary of State for War whether maimed and disabled men are kept at the various bases on military duties; whether men with one leg or one arm are being kept at the bases in Palestine and Ireland, for instance; and, if so, whether he will cause inquiry to be made and take steps to have such men, if they are really considered fit for military duties, brought nearer home, and, if they are unfit, discharged and pensioned?
§ Mr. MACPHERSONMaimed and disabled soldiers are not put to any duty until pronounced fit for such duties as fall within the various categories. If my hon. Friend will give me details of any disabled man being improperly employed on duty for which he is not fit, I will have inquiries made.
