§ Mr. FORSTERThe average cost of a Regular or Territorial soldier in the United Kingdom under present conditions is about £112 a year. In the present state of the Volunteer Force it is difficult to arrive at any figure showing the average cost per head; but £5 a year would be the maximum as matters stand.
