HC Deb 14 February 1918 vol 103 c297W
Colonel HOPE

asked the Pensions Minister whether, in appointing county and other organising secretaries for the administration of pensions, preference will be given to ex-officers and soldiers; and whether he will see that, as far as possible, no candidate is appointed who has not himself served in the Navy or Army?

Sir A. GRIFFITH-BOSCAWEN

I have no direct control over the selection of persons appointed to fill posts on local war pensions committees, but I have recently urged upon the committees in the strongest terms the desirability of giving preference to disabled men when making salaried appointments to their staff.
