§ Mr. W. THORNEasked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Ministry of Food whether he will state the reason for the resignation of Mr. John Wardle; and whether, in view of the manner in which he had secured the unanimity and cooperation of all sections of the refrigerated produce industries, any efforts were made to induce him to reconsider his decision?
§ Mr. CLYNESAs stated in the reply given to a previous question on the same subject, the former Director of Cold Storage and Inland Transport resigned because he was unable to carry out the duties entrusted to him within the limits rendered necessary by proper Treasury control of public expenditure.
