§ Mr. STEWARTasked the hon. Member for Sheffield (Central Division) whether the Prisoners of War Committee have received a report on the treatment of Mercantile Marine apprentices who are prisoners of war in Germany; and 1403W whether lads of good parentage, from fourteen years of age and upwards, are made to do the most menial work in the camp, some out working on commandoes with firemen, sailors, and Russian soldiers, and, as stated by Germans, their cadets who are prisoners of war in this country are being similarly ill-treated by the British Government?
Mr. HOPEWe have an agreement with Germany for the special treatment of youthful prisoners. If my hon. Friend will communicate to me the names of any boys who are not being properly treated, I will see that the matter is taken up with the German Government.
