Mr. WILIKIEasked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Ministry of Food whether the Government will take over the control of treacle and syrup and fix maximum prices for same, in view of the rapidly rising prices of these substitutes for controlled articles?
§ Mr. CLYNESThe Royal Commission on the Sugar Supply has already taken over the control of treacle and syrup, and has fixed maximum prices for the same. A full announcement of the Regulations of the Commission appeared in the morning newspapers on 13th April, and I am sending to the hon. Member a copy of those Regulations.
