§ Mr. JOWETTasked the Under Secretary of State for War whether there is any Army Council Instruction or other bar to prevent a British-born soldier, the son of a British mother, but whose father was born in Germany and denaturalised twenty-two years ago, being accepted for a commission if he has been recommended whilst on active service at the front in France or elsewhere on the ground that one of his parents was born in Germany?
