HC Deb 18 April 1918 vol 105 cc571-2W
Mr. MORRELL

asked the Minister of National Service whether he proposes in practice to make any exceptional provision in respect of the only sons of widows as to age limit or otherwise, or whether widows' sons will be taken for military service upon the same conditions as other men?

Mr. BECK

The grounds on which application to a tribunal for exemption may be made remain as laid clown in the First Military Service Act. including the ground that serious hardship would ensue if a man were called up for Army Service, owing to his exceptional domestic position. Applications in such cases will, therefore, continue to be dealt with by the tribunals.
