HC Deb 09 April 1918 vol 104 c1336W
Mr. HARRY HOPE

asked the Secretary for Scotland whether, as Arran is practically free of the Isle of Wight bee disease, he will take steps to prevent the importation of bees from other districts into the island except under special licence?

Mr. MUNRO

It is proposed to arrange for the inspection of all stocks from which bees are to be sent to Arran in the summer of this year. The local beekeeping associations in Ayrshire and the adjoining counties are being asked to co-operate, and it is hoped that in this way all reasonable risk of the spread of infection to Arran will be avoided.
