§ Mr. HARCOURTasked the President of the Board of Trade why the return, No. 116, relative to assurance companies, dated 24th July, and occupying over 400 closely-printed pages, was not withheld from publication during the War in the interest of economy of labour and material and a summary substituted; and how many copies were printed?
§ Mr. WARDLEThe return referred to was reduced to the minimum necessary to disclose the positions of assurance companies, and is less than one-third of the volume of the statements lodged under the Assurance Companies Act. I am informed that 1,000 copies were printed.
