WILSONasked the Financial Secretary to the War Office whether he is aware that all soldiers' families in receipt of separation allowance are charged 3s. per day for women and 2s. per day for children for admittance and attendance in the Louise Margaret Hospital, Alder-shot; and whether he will favourably consider the possibility of abolishing this charge and thus make the treatment of all soldiers' relatives identical?
§ Mr. FORSTERAs a general rule, wives and families of soldiers obtain hospital treatment from the usual civil sources without further cost to the public. Admission to the Louise Margaret Hospital at Aldershot is a matter of privilege, not of right, and the charges made are estimated to cover only actual out-of-pocket expenses. I am afraid I cannot adopt my hon. Friend's suggestion.
