HC Deb 23 November 1917 vol 99 c1545W
Major HENRY TERRELL

asked the Under-Secretary of State for War whether there are many men in the Army with little or no pre-war experience of horse-shoeing employed as farriers and in some cases as farrier-sergeants, whilst there are many qualified farriers who hold the A.F.C.L. degree of the Farriers' Company who are variously engaged in the Army on noncombatant work unconnected with farriery; and, if so, will he take steps to prevent such waste of skilled men?

Mr. MACPHERSON

I would refer my hon. Friend to the answer which I gave on 23rd October to my hon. Friend the Member for Central Edinburgh.
