HC Deb 15 November 1917 vol 99 cc603-4W
Sir E. COATES

asked the Home Secretary if he can make better provision for the warning of a night air-raid to those people who live in the miles of side streets and who are unable to hear the warning whistle in the larger thoroughfares?

Sir G. CAVE

As I explained in reply to a question by the hon. Member for West Newington on the 30th October, the Government decided, after mature deliberation, that the existing method of giving warning is the most suitable for the night hours, and the question cannot now be reopened.
