HC Deb 15 November 1917 vol 99 c605W
Mr. MILLAR

asked the President of the Board of Trade what arrangements have been made to secure the supply and proper distribution of coal throughout Scotland during the present winter?

Mr. WARDLE

Regarding coal for domestic purposes, arrangements have been made with a view to organising the supplies and distribution of coal throughout Scotland by means of local coal committees set up in towns of 20,000 inhabitants and upwards. Supplies in Scotland are satisfactory, and these committees are dealing with the question of distribution in the manner best fitting their locality.
