§ Captain WRIGHTasked the President of the Local Government Board whether, in giving his consent to building schemes under which considerable areas of horticultural and agricultural land are intended to be taken and built upon, he, while recognising the value of such schemes, will, in view of the present necessity for increased supplies of home-grown food for the population of our large towns and the shortage of available building materials and labour, consider the deferring of such schemes until the situation as to food supplies has been relieved?
§ Mr. HAYES FISHERIt is not contemplated that schemes for the erection of houses for the working classes will be carried out until after the close of the War, except in a few cases of a very urgent character in connection with the War.
