§ Mr. MACPHERSONA communiqué issued to the Press on 26th January referred to operations, of which reports had been received, covering the period 22nd January to 25th January. On 24th January fighting occurred at and south of the Rufiji River; at a point south-west of Kilwa; and about Likuju, fifty-five miles north-east of Ssongea. Movements, in connection with which no especial fighting was mentioned, occurred in other areas. Detailed accounts of these operations have not yet been received.
