§ Mr. G. ROBERTSMy right hon. Friend has asked me to reply to this question. The question of the possibility of increasing the supply of cotton from sources within the Empire has been considered by the Departmental Committee of the Board of Trade upon the Textile Industries, and I recently received a deputation from the British Cotton Growing Association upon the same subject. I hope shortly to be in a position to make a statement as to the action which will be taken in the matter.
