Mr. T. WILSONasked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Ministry of Food whether there is a large quantity of Colonial cheese in the warehouses of this country; and, if so, why is it being held up, seeing that a month ago it was announced that this cheese would be on the market?
§ Mr. G. ROBERTSMy hon. Friend has asked me to reply to this question. The cheese in question is the surplus quantity left after meeting the needs of the Army, and has only now become available for civilian consumption. It is in process of being distributed to retailers so far as the quantity admits, and will be on sale in the course of a few days.
