HC Deb 21 June 1917 vol 94 c1994W
Mr. WATT

asked the Secretary for Scotland whether there are any whole-time sheriffs-principal in Scotland; and, if so, how many?

Mr. MUNRO

The answer to the first part of the question is in the negative. None of the sheriffs-principal in Scotland is obliged, either by Statute or by the terms of his commission, to appropriate his whole time to the public service. The second part of the question, therefore, does not arise.
